Soul Meets Body

I was quite moved by my birthday gift from my little son in July, and I found your comments about him being a potential rock star to be, in a word, awesome. As did my Mom, who then relayed them to almost every individual she came in contact with that day. There is no pride like Grandparent Pride.

And I wanted to share this little treat as well.

Some of you may already know the indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie. Originally from a city north of Seattle, I am a big fan of their song list. One of my favorites is a song titled Soul Meets Body. If you haven't heard it, here is your chance.

And because I am already a fan of DC4C, and of course, a huge fan of the budding rock star in my own house, the following performance is one of my favorite of all time. Talk about a Rock and Roll heart.

Have a great Friday.

  5. I know I am cruel and evil but I feel it my sworn duty to remind you JennyM that what is cute today is going to evolve to become a teenager soon enough.

Then the real guitars and drums and the 100000000000000000 megawatt amps come out to play.

  6. JennyMac, I think you have a budding rock star there. He's already got the moves on the fret board of the guitar, a good voice and that adorable smile. Yes, I think he's destined to break a lot of those groupies hearts.

  28. ADORABLE! I thought the cat in the background was notes floating up for a second and I was wondering how you did that...
That was so sweet of him to play that for you!
LOL! My son loved all my music and went to Irish band concerts with me getting autographs from the band and such. Then one day he asked... are these guys famous... I mean really famous? When he found that his other friends didn't listen to this music, he dropped it like a rock.
Bummer! I loved it more when he was this age and sang along with Sarah Brightman with me...

  36. I think we have a future contestant for American Idol, America's Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance all built into one with that Luke of yours. Or maybe he can just take Paula's place as a judge. Wouldn't that be adorable? Almost as cute as him.

  46. I first discovered Death Cab For Cutie on The O.C. I had a major crush on the character of Seth Cohen who, if you haven't seen it, was a huge fan.

He is adorable! He is going to be such a heartbreaker - you're going to have to watch out for all those girls! And what awesomely cool parents he has that listen to such great music!

  53. Wow, what a great post, for a several of reasons:
    1) that little rock star is TCFW (too cute for words) and obviosusly very musical.
    2) I have never heard DC4C before. I'm not sure what I was expecting (probably something more head-banger-ish given the name)but not this. Is this typical?
    3) That is flat out one of the coolest, cleverest videos I've ever seen!

  54. My heart just melted!
    And I love DCfC...
